Countdown for MBBS/BDS counseling for which the students of EAMCET (BiPC) are eagerly waiting has begun. Andhra Pradesh Higher Education Council has made arrangements to conduct counseling for Medical and dental courses by Dr NTR Health University in Vijayawada.
MBBS, Dental college seats in government, private (non-minority) seats in Andhra Pradesh has been categorized as A, B, C based on the differences in fee payments. Seats in A, B category are considered as convener quota. These seats will be filled by NTR Health University. C category seats in private colleges will be considered as Management Quota seats. These seats are filled directly by various private colleges.
- Seats in government colleges are G category seats and these are free seats.
- Fifty percent seats in private medical colleges are A category and ten percent are B category seats. These seats are filled by the university under convener quota.
- Remaining 40% seats are C category seats and these are filled by the private colleges directly.
Counseling Fees: Counseling fee for OC, BC category students is Rs. 500 and for SC, ST category candidates the fee is Rs. 300. Students who got admissions will have to pay one time fee in university bank counters that are set up in counseling centers.
Local/Non-local candidates: Eighty five percent seats are available for local candidates in counseling. Students who studies in districts of various university regions are considered as local candidates.
AU Region (Andhra): Srikakulam, Vijayanagaram, Visakhapatnam, East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur and Prakasam districts fall under Andhra, Nagarjuna university region.
Osmania Region (Telangana): Adilabad, Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, Karimnagar, Khammam, Medak, Mehboobnagar, Nalgonda, Nizamabad and Warangal districts fall under Kakatiya, Osmania university regions.
SVU Region: Anantapuram, Kurnool, Cuddapah, Nellore and Chittoor district fall under SV University region.
Local Candidates: Students who studies in districts of various university regions from sixth class to intermediate will be considered as local candidates. If a students studies for seven years till intermediate in a university region he will be considered as local candidate for that particular region.
Non-Local (unreserved candidates): If a candidate of one particular university region desires to study in another university region, he will become a non-local candidate for that university. 15% seats are allotted for non-local candidates. Candidates of other states also will be considered as non-locals.
